The yard from the sidewalk perspective That's Right, No Garage

It's been an on-going debate for what seems like ten years. Each November we swear in the spring we will build a fancy garage and get rid of those cheap ice-scrapers which always snap when the windshield is still half ice.

But every spring, we're so glad the winter is gone -- parking in an uncovered driveway is a complete non-issue. After a few weekends of playing catch or kicking a ball, the idea of trading away the turf becomes unthinkable. Of course, every football season, the decision to remain garage-free is applauded by 30 or so of my closest friends - who I see about six times per year.

Looking north from the south end The sideyard is actually a FULL lot, but you can't put another address on it -- but it's plenty large enough for a tiny house. This image shows what it looks like when you're playing goalie on the south side of the field.

Just behind the goalie net is a 10 foot high, pretty wide lilac bush which smells great in the spring time and is awesome for blocking wayward penalty kicks.

In the goalie box, the grass is worn down to bare dirt ... so if you're not a soccer fan, this will likely be one of the places you should avoid during the open house.
